If you -were- serious I’m partial to Zakix brand from amazon. Cheap (so my kids can lose them without undue wrath), thicker cable and sturdier strain relief ends (so my kids can lose them before they wear out), plug still fits into all the apple-size-only case openings. Did I mention cheap? $9 for 3 of the 3ft version. I have purchased 3ft and 6ft versions.
I also bought Avolare when I wanted a set of distinctive flat cords, but those were $20/pair. Haven’t lost them or broken them yet, but they only get occasional use, your mileage may vary.

I have yet to break an Apple cable through 5 iPhones and 3 ipods. Just killed one with the vacuum, though.

Do you ever take your cables anywhere in a bag.

i think it’s an insignia brand one they sell at Best Buy that has a year warranty or something like that. they’ll replace it if it stops working, just keep your receipt and box. it’s bound to go inop within that time from personal experience.

Ventev. If it’s anything like the micro usb cable I bought from this brand, it’s simply the best. I’ve been using the same single cable for close to two years now. If you love yourself you’ll get a 6ft one.

Anker. Everything I’ve ever bought from them has shown superior quality.

Monoprice. Not bad, not as expensive as apple.
Alternatively, get real apple ones on sale occasionally from OWC/macsales.com for dirt cheap.

Just buy a bunch of cheap ones. Keep one everywhere you charge. Replace as you need after that.
Although this was a little stressful for me when I finally upgraded from my 4 this summer and went from cables everywhere (seriously, like one in each room, a couple offices, all of my personal and work vehicles) to just the one.

I carry cords every day and can’t find one that actually will live.
